Licence terms
In plain language, followed by the formal agreement. Where the two ever disagree, that is a mistake worth telling us about.
What you are buying
- A licence to use the software, per seat. One seat is one activated machine. You can move a seat between machines yourself from inside the application.
- The download is never gated. The application, its assets and every update ship identically to everyone. A licence unlocks capability, not access to bytes.
- A perpetual licence does not expire. It includes one year of updates; after that the version you have keeps working forever, and further updates are optional and separately priced.
- A subscription runs while it is paid. If it lapses, the application returns to the free Viewer tier — it does not lock, and your files stay yours and openable.
What you may do
- Use it commercially. Everything you produce with it — renders, exports, measurements, models — is yours, with no royalty and no attribution requirement.
- Install it on as many machines as you like. Only activated machines consume a seat.
- Move a seat to replacement hardware, as often as you genuinely need to.
What you may not do
- Share one seat between more people than you bought seats for. Seat transfers are rate-limited for this reason.
- Resell, sublicense or redistribute the software without a written agreement — see partners.
- Remove or defeat the licensing mechanism.
Working offline
Activation needs the internet exactly once. After that the licence is a signed certificate held on your machine, trusted indefinitely — there is no countdown, no re-validation window and nothing that expires locally. A machine that never goes online again keeps working. This is a deliberate promise: locked-down networks, air-gapped sites and long field deployments are normal in this industry, and losing your tools for doing nothing wrong is not an acceptable failure.
The consequence, stated plainly rather than buried: because entitlements never expire locally, a cancelled subscription on a machine that stays disconnected keeps working at its last synced tier. We would rather be honest about that than pretend a timer was security.
Refunds
TODO(owner): state your refund window — 14 or 30 days is normal. It is worth being generous here: the free Viewer and the 14-day full-feature trial mean nobody should be buying blind in the first place, so refund requests will be rare and a short window buys goodwill for nothing.
Warranty and liability
TODO(owner): the formal limitation-of-liability and warranty-disclaimer clauses belong here, and they should be drafted or reviewed by a lawyer under Austrian law. Everything above is a truthful description of how the product behaves and can stand; this section cannot be written from the codebase.
